Police net four key suspects in murder of city lawyer

Police in Kampala have nabbed four suspects over the vicious shooting and death of Ronald Mukisa, 45, a lawyer attached to IBC Advocates.

Mukisa was brutally gunned down in May by unidentified killer at his residence in Kitiko Birongo in Ndejje division, Makindye Ssaabagabo in Wakiso district last week.

Police revealed that the deceased died on spot after several bullets were directed at him at the gate, moments after parking his dark blue Subaru Legacy at 11:00pm. They say neighbours witnessed the incident as the hooded assailant first fired one bullet to disable the deceased and hide, before returning moments later to finish him off with several shots at a close range.

The man killer would later jump on a motorcycle and flee the bloody crime scene.

Now, Fred Enanga, the Uganda police spokesperson says detectives from Crime Intelligence Directorate (CID) and the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) have smoked out four suspects, integral in the shooting of the lawyer.

Enanga said on Sunday that the group is believed to have plotted the killing of Mukisa.

“The joint security teams have been investigating and arrested four key suspects, who were involved in the planning and killing of the lawyer,” said Enanga

Enanga says the suspects were identified on Saturday and consequently arrested on Sunday morning.
