Police have deployed massively at the Old taxi park in Kampala, Tuesday as KCCA imposes the transfer of taxis.
Taxis using the Entebbe route have been relocated to Usafi Park.

Minister for Kampala Beti Kamya recently directed taxis to vacate the park while those operating at stages along Kampala streets to move into designated taxi parks.

She affirmed that it was a cabinet decision and not for KCCA.

According to the Kampala Taxi Stages Association, KOTSA  chairperson Yasin Sematimba, although this is intended to remove the congestion in the city, it will take time for customers to adjust to this new policy.

Among those affected include taxis operating at Shoprite, mega standard and outside the old taxi park.

Traffic flow in the city has been paralyzed after changes made to remove all taxis operating on the roadside mainly Entebbe taxis to Usafi park.

However, some passengers who were seen stranded say these new changes will make transportation harder. “Kizibu nyo okutambula okuva eno okuda mu Usafi, ffe tubade tumanyide wano”, a tired-looking woman says.
