Bobi Wine told media he misses his old self.
Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi returned to the country last week from a month long specialized treatment in the US after allegedly undergoing torture in the hands of Special Forces Command SFC in Arua.
Bobi Wine addressed the media for the first time since returning and was open about his transition from music to politics.
He explained: “And many times when I am talking to police. I wish listen to me as an artist.
Not as a Member of Parliament because as an artist I have the liberty to be seen as a common Ugandan.”
Wine narrated: “Like you see a carpenter, like you see a painter, like you see a doctor, like you see a lawyer. When I was an artiste, it used to be much better.”
However, he noted: “I don’t in any way regret the decision I took because I was conscious of what to expect. I was well aware there is torture, there is intimidation, there is brutality, and even death.”
The Kyadondo East MP added: “But because I knew and I was encouraged because I knew dying on ones feet is much better than living in fear.”
