MPs have resolved to consult President Yoweri Museveni on the contentious National Social Security Fund bill before Parliament.
Savers have demanded to have a potion of their savings to help them go through the hard Covid-19 times.
MPs decided to take the debate to President Museveni after they failed to agree on the age at which one can access their monies.
MPs rejected the call for those who attain the age of 45 and above to access their savings reasoning that many will be left out.
After a lengthy debate and failing to find a middle ground, workers MP Agnes Kunihira suggested that the debate before taken to the President to have an opinion on.
The debate comes at a time after NSSF managing director Richard Byarugaba told savers in a letter that his hands are tied by the law in place to effect any payments.
Byarugaba urged savers to engage their MPs to help them amend the law to make it easy for him to realize their demands.
Several savers have been pushing for them to access 20% of their savings to help them negotiate the current economic crisis as a result of the Covid-19.
