The internal struggles in one of Uganda’s biggest opposition political party the Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) are far from over if we are to go by last night’s unfortunate drama that happened on NTV the spot a political show hosted by veteran journalist Patrick Kamara.

The highly rated Talk show had hosted two of the party’s big wigs Hon Nabilah Nagayi Ssempala the Kampala woman MP and Hon Nathan Mafabi the party Secretary General to talk about the mis understanding currently happening in FDC.

All hell broke loose when Hon Mafabi asked Nabilah why she didn’t vote against the age limit bill that extended the presidential age cap from 75 years.

In her response Nabilah explained that she was on sick leave and couldn’t vote.

As if prepared to anger and disorganize Nabilah’s mental faculty Mafabi angrily replied ”Why didn’t you die if you were sick”

Mafabi’s strong remarks enraged Nabilah who in retaliation stood up, packed her belongings and attempted to make her way out of the
studio.

“Why didn’t I die? Kamara , I am moving out,” said a visibly irritated Nabilah.

This prompted Patrick Kamara, the talk show host to plead with Nabilah not to leave the studio.

It should be noted that on Wednesday the FDC rejected MP Nabillah Naggayi’s nomination forms, a decison that turned to be a huge blow to her attempt to contest for the position of Lord Mayor in Kampala using the party ticket.

Nabilah, the current Kampala Woman MP had returned her nomination forms on Wednesday . However, the FDC Electoral Commission chairman Boniface Bamwenda said she had either deliberately decided to return the forms after the deadline or forgot that the process ended yesterday July 14.

Naggayi had planned to contest against the incumbent Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, a non-member of the FDC but a very close ally and associate to the party’s bigwigs. She is the only member of FDC who had wished to contest for the position.
