South Africa-based Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has won the social media category in the One Africa Awards.

Zari bagged the accolade alongside Nigerian superstar and African musical voice Burna Boy who won the Cultural Influencer of the year award.
Available on Showmax as a seven-part series, One Africa Awards is a celebration of African excellence that showcases African individuals, communities and NGOs whose work enriches solidarity, social cohesion and the economic advancement of the continent.

Taking to Instagram, Zari shared a picture flaunting the beautiful award and reposted a message from the organisation detailing her rise in music and business. Congratulating her for the win, One Africa noted that Zari’s eagerness to succeed in her ventures was very inspirational.

On Burna Boy, One Africa co-founder and judge at the event Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool said, “We instantly knew who ticked all the boxes in order to receive this award! His contribution to the music and culture saw him win Best International Act at the BET Awards last year.”
