Bobi’s Car at URA for re-assessment…

As we report this, pop-star cum opposition honcho, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s bullet proof car is finally at URA Customs office for re-evaluation and re-assessment after losing case.

Bobi Wine takes his Armored car to URA for Re-assessment

In March, Bobi Wine through his lawyer’s dragged Uganda Revenue Authority-URA to the High Court in Kampala demanding 150 million shillings in compensation over his pompous armored ride.

This came after the URA had issued him an order , recalling his 500million shilling UBJ-667F (Toyota Land Cruiser V8) ride for a verification exercise.

Bobi Wine through his lawyers Anthony Wameli notified court how his right to property was being infringed upon by the Revenue Body.

The lawyers educated the Commissioner Customs that it has no ‘automatic powers to re-examine goods which had already cleared by them in their custody’ more so when the goods had been examined before.

However in his ruling, Justice Emmanuel Baguma on Tuesday, April 6 said Bobi failed to produce evidence illustrating that re-calling the vehicle for re-verification will cause him harm that cannot be compensated. Therefore, he dismissed the application.

URA directed Bobi to drive the car to customs office for re-assessment

Following the court ruling, URA wrote to Bobi directing him to voluntarily deliver the said bullet proof car for a re-verification exercise at their offices in Nakawa not later than Friday, 9th with out fail and he did just that!

The boys have already parked Bobi’s Car at the customs office.
