Uganda Police Throws Out 153
Uganda Police has finally kicked out of the force all 153 cops implicated in corruption and indiscipline while on duty and disgracing the police image.
The decision to dismiss the rotten police cops in the lower and senior category stems from a resolution reached at by the Police council, appointments committee and police authority.
The cops including Police Constable and Senior Superintendents of Police were consistently found guilty of engaging in acts of corruption and indiscipline.
Fred Enanga, the police mouthpiece said during a presser at the Police headquarters in Naguru that 23 of this group were expelled for repeated corrupt practices between 2016 to 2019.
“A total of 153 officers accused of misconduct have been dismissed and others are pending dismissal.6 have been discharged over discreditable conduct, five for neglecting their duty, and 18 were charged and discharged over scandalous conduct,” Enanga said.
He says while the majority have been dismissed over corruption, others were relieved of their policing duties on allegations of discrediting police force and behaving scandalously.

Most were found while absconding from duty, drinking while at work, led to the government loosing property.
Nevertheless, police were yet to release the names of the expelled personnel but Enanga said 41 have been discharged from the police force for consistently being absent without official leave.
This is contrary to section 44 (1) code 20 (b) of the Police Act.
Enanga says their dismissal must be effected after a fair hearing in Police Court and Appellate Court of the force.
