Uganda’s security is everything to President Yoweri Museveni.

President Museveni orchestrated the celebrations to mark International Youth Day at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala. The theme of the day was; “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”.

The President talked tough on people trying to destabilize the security of Uganda. Museveni’s stern warning followed his message to politicians and young people who urged to engage in useful activities that can improve their livelihoods.

Museveni called upon leaders to unite youth to engage in economic production to improve the standards of living.

The President referred to the NUP youth who he said wanted to make the country ungovernable.

Museveni narrated: I will crush anyone who wants to destablize our country’s security. we have built this capacity for 60 years. This started during my days in school, in the 1960s. our activities made some people uncomfortable because they were political.”

He cautioned: “I hear people moving to the neighbouring countries. You are wasting your time. we will crush you.”

The President is expected to address the nation on Saturday evening to elaborate more on the issue of the country’s security situation.

Museveni’s security tip

One element about fighting is to be sure of yourself. When you are confident in yourself, you can handle any combat situation. I congratulate the indomitable officers that have completed their course at the UPDF School of Military Intelligence and Security in Migyera, Nakasongola.
