Swangz Avenue signs Zafaran, Vinka in panic

Swangz Avenue has made a name in scouting fresh talents, especially females and nurturing them into mega stars.

The Muyenga-based record label has in the recent past mentored little known artists like the late Sera, Irene Ntale, Winnie Nwagi, Vinka and Azawi.

The latest on the list is Zafaran Lovie! Born Josephine Nakyoonyi, is a diamond in the rough, who has backed up music legend, Jose Chameleone and King Saha, with soothing vocals, recently at the Tusker Malt Conversessions.

The Swangz team, being behind the production of Conversession online show, might have spotted something unique and special in Zafaran, and boom! She had to be retained.

Today, Friday, the dreadlocked crooner has had her dream of becoming a star, kick-started.

The record label chiefs, headed by Julius Kyazze and Benon Mugumbya have unveiled her after putting pen to paper, at their offices in Muyenga.

Details of the contract have not been disclosed but it’s believed to be a long term recording contract.

An inside source tips us that for the past few weeks, she has been undergoing necessary training to get her ready. Apparently she has also recorded a couple of songs which will be released at a later date.
