Father kills 16 -year-old boy

Police in Kamuli District have caged a ruthless father for chopping a senior three male student on allegations of bonking his daughter.

The suspect Benon Ntalo warned the deceased James Kakonso, a student at Bugulumbya secondary school in Kamuli district after he nabbed him with his teenage girl cuddling at a local borehole in Bugobi village in Bugulumbya sub-county in Kamuli district on October 05.

However, his warning fell on deaf ears as the teenage couple continued romping behind Ntale’s back, thinking he was not aware.

Locals allege that on that fateful day, Sunday morning, Ntale chopped Kakonso several times using a sharp machete and dumped his lifeless body in a trench while passers by witnessed. When questioned about his actions, Kakonso told the alarmed locals that the body belonged to a thief who was dumped in his neighbourhood from another area.

But locals who identified the deceased ran to his parents and informed them that their son had been dumped in the trench.

Kakonso’s father, Joseph Muwedere, says that one of the residents informed him how Ntalo had killed his son.

“We are neighbors and I think that Ntalo would have engaged me to devise means of jointly disciplining our children rather than opting for corporal punishment, which ended fatally,” he said.

Busoga North police spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, says that Ntalo is in custody at Kamuli central police station as the prime suspect in Kakonso’s killing. He says that they also arrested one Adam Kalenzi and Eria for attempting to aid Ntalo to conceal the crime.

A postmortem report released by Kamuli general hospital shows that the teenager had deep cuts on his head and strangulation marks on the neck.
