A group of unknown suspects was forced to escape from a vehicle with stolen items after Police busted them in Bunga, Ggaba Parish, Makindye Division Subcounty, Kampala District.
The goons were riding a motor vehicle UAM 301Q containing items worth millions of shillings reportedly stolen from one of the shops in Bunga in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson says a team of Police officers on patrol at Bunga ordered the vehicle to stop at about 3:00 am on suspicion that it was moving at awkward hours with several occupants and goods.
He adds that the occupants of the vehicle were forced to flee, abandoning the vehicle in the middle of the road.

Owoyesigyire says the police officers later searched the car and the merchandise was recovered. He says the officers also found several break-in implements at the boot of the car and a hunt for the suspects who fled the scene is still on.
“We would like to caution the general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious noises or occurrences in their areas of residence. We are in touch with other authorities to ascertain the ownership of the motor vehicle.” he said
