On January 23, 2024, Wakiso District witnessed the tragic death of a couple engaged in a fatal knife fight.
The lifeless bodies of Acen Jesca (29) and Ogwal Kenneth (28) were discovered in their locked residence by alarmed neighbors who noticed blood seeping from within.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Waiswa Latif, the Defense Secretary, received distressing reports from vigilant residents. Upon forcefully entering the residence, they were shocked to find the deceased lying cold in a pool of blood.
Owoyesigyire says Bweyogerere Police officers swiftly responded to the scene, obtaining statements from neighbors who revealed episodes of violent fights between the ill-fated couple.
Owoyesigyire, shedding light on the investigation, suggests that Ogwal might have been the killer, potentially taking the life of his wife during the fight . He stated that the crime scene itself spoke volumes, with signs of a violent struggle evident, notably on the bloodstained mattress.
The presumed murder weapon, a knife, was recovered at the crime scene. Acen bore multiple fresh wounds, particularly around her neck, while Ogwal displayed a cut around his neck.
The lifeless bodies have been transported to KCCA mortuary Mulago, awaiting a thorough postmortem analysis that may unravel more details of this ill-fated knife duel.
