Cristiano Ronaldo looked like he had had his time more so after a rather slow start to the season with Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga. The slow start you would think impacted on the Spanish club’s finish behind Barcelona, their fiercest rivals.

His scores in the champions league where he was the top scorer did not convince many as he played a minimal role in the outcome of the final which Madrid claimed thanks to Gareth Bale brilliance and Karim Benzema. Recent talks in the media put Ronaldo in the wrong books of Madrid with the club headed to parting ways with their best player after turning down his appeals for pay rise.

With Neymar, Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez at PSG, Barcelona and Man Utd respectively all getting pay check way more than the Portuguese, it was obvious he would be looking for options to keep pace with his rivals.

However, with the terrifying manner in which Ronaldo has started the world cup with a hat-trick which included a rattling free to equalize against Spain and a lone and winning goal against Morocco, will Madrid swallow the hard pill and hand their man his wish? Ronaldo looks to have gained fresh anger and hunger amidst news surrounding his future.
