Cash Chat, a social media and financial technology mobile application developed by Bold Cashers Limited, a Ugandan technology company, has appointed one of Uganda’s celebrated and topmost influential media personalities Ms. Nambooze Annet aka Annatalia Oze as a Brand Ambassador.
Annatalia has over the years built a dependable reputation as a voice of the youth having worked for various media houses in Uganda including Vision Group, Record TV, Delta TV, Nation Media Group and Next Media Services where she currently works as a presenter on NBS Television, championing economic empowerment among the youth.
She also leads the Women4Her organization which is a consortium of women that focuses on improving the lives of less privileged girls and women. Under this organization, they have different projects like the 365 Saving Challenge that was designed to financially liberate the girl child.
Speaking on Wednesday morning, 26th February 2020, at Eureka Place Hotel where the press conference to unveil Annatalia as a Brand Ambassador of Cash Chat mobile app was held, Mr. Asher Namanya, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bold Cashers, said Annatalia will be responsible for promoting the app, appear on promotional materials and create awareness that will lead to the growth of the mobile app.
Mr. Namanya explained that Annatalia, an astute and youthful television personality, will lend her celebrity status and influence she has over the youth to introduce and educate them about the Cash Chat mobile app innovation that integrates financial solutions with social media to give users the much need economic freedom.
“Working with Annatalia is an opportunity for us as technology innovators and developers at Bold Cashers Limited and especially our Cash Chat brand to reach and empower the youth. It fits well in our plan of creating jobs for the youth by offering them mobile phone-based financial solutions. We are here to help young people gain financial freedom by using our user-friendly mobile app,” Mr. Namanya said.
He continued: “We know that the biggest percentage of Uganda’s population is made up of young people who are always using social media platforms to reach out to each other. We have therefore packaged Cash Chat mobile app in such a way that you can chat with your friends, transfer money and earn from publishing or viewing sponsored adverts on the app status section.” “We are the only social media and financial technology platform that rewards you with money for spending time on the mobile app. Users of Cash Chat mobile app are earning significant amounts of money by publishing adverts and getting commissions of up to 20 percent for viewing adverts,” he added.
The Cash Chat mobile app, the first of its kind in Uganda, is powered by PesaMoni, a global payment gateway. Over 500,000 users globally have signed up. The App, available for download from Google’s Play Store is integrated with Bold Cashers’ digital wallet that gives users access to their savings and key financial transactions like buying airtime, paying for utility bills, and sending or receiving money.
Mr. Namanya explains that they want users to do more than chatting. He revealed that they are facilitating the process for Africa to become cashless. “We are looking at having a unified one stopover product where you can be able to chat, transfer money and many other things. Our vision is to connect the world through financial technology and social media,” he noted.
“We want to make communication and money transfers easy and affordable as compared to prevailing financial solutions. The Cash Chat mobile app gives you that advantage to access all services in one stopover without moving away from where you are as social media users and consumers.” Mr. Namanya affirmed.
On her part, Annatalia re-echoed the belief that e-commerce is the future and that young people should be able to use social media and reap financial benefits from the time they spend online.
“The future of employment and doing business is digital and as young people, we must understand this well and appreciate it. Financial technologies are here and we must embrace it. For a mobile app like Cash Chat to integrate social media and financial services if a great milestone. We can now chat and do business on the same platform. We are also getting paid for the time we spend on the app,” she said. “I want to encourage Ugandans to go to Google’s Play Store and download the app so that they can be part of the revolution Bold Cashers and Pesamoni have commenced.
