In South Africa, a heartless mother of four children, Zinhle Maditla, is facing murder charges of ending her own children’s lives. Maditla admitted before court yesterday to feeding her four children with rat poison after finding out that the father of two of them was cheating and finding pleasure in chewing another woman’s yummy bearded meat.
The pre-sentencing report indicates that the 25-year-old mother was then stressed about how she would take care of her children as a single and unemployed mother of four.
The decomposing bodies of 8-year-old Minenhle, 6-year-old Blessing, 4-year-old Shaniqua and 11-month-old Ethan were found wrapped in blankets on December 30 last year.
Maditla took the stand for the first time, to ask the court for mercy. She told court she regrets what she did. She said she can’t sleep at night because of her guilty conscience.
Her sentence will be heard this Friday.
