Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Ismail Watenga could be on his way to Zambia’s National Pension Scheme Authority(NAPSA) Stars football club.

The Zambian club is keen to scoop Watenga who is currently a free agent since leaving Sofapaka of Kenya early last month.

The former Vipers goalkeeper has also been linked to a possible return to Vipers where he left for Ethiopia.

He is set to become the fourth Ugandan ever to play for NAPSA Stars after Jimmy Bageya, Hakim Ssenkumba and most recently Geoffrey Sserunkuuma.

NAPSA Stars are second on the 18-team Zambian league table with 35 points accumulated from 18 games played.

Th imminent move would also see him join other Ugandans in Zambia in Umar Kasumba(Zesco United), Mathias Kigonya(Forest Rangers), Shafik Bakaki(Nkana Fc), Brian Bwete(Mufulira Wanderers) and Paul Musamali(Buildcon Fc).

Ismail Watenga has also featured 19 times for Uganda Cranes since he made his debut in 2014.
