Aziz Azion snubs Chamili, Bebe on his list of top 5 musicians
While some recognize Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine to be the fathers of Ugandan music, not everyone appreciates that fact. Singer Aziz Azion is one of them. Aziz’s list of top 5 musicians does not include Chameleone and Bebe Cool.
While appearing on the Zzina Big Bang last Friday, Aziz was put on the spot to list his top five artistes in no particular order. Aziz had (without mentioning names) said that “there are so many mediocres in Uganda’s music industry”
“Many artistes don’t deserve to be in this industry,” Aziz Azion said.
Against the above background, Prim, the Galaxy FM Evening Rush show co-host put the RnB star to a “who would be on your list of top five Ugandan musicians”
While Aziz said five is a low number, he listed Omulangira Ssuuna, Maurice Kirya, Juliana Kanyomozi, Kabuye Ssemboga and Bobi Wine. Fire Baby- Winnie Nwagi – came as Aziz’s bonus.
Early this year, Galaxy FM staged the Zzina Awards for the 9th time in a row.
Pallaso emerged as the Artiste of the year while Swangz Avenue’s Azawi was recognized as the Female artiste of the Year.
