TV boy Isaac Kaiyz Kawalya is well known for not mincing words while giving his opinion on a particular subject.

He often irritates and leaves a bitter taste in a section of the public in his hard-hitting submissions whenever he appears on set.

Kaiyz is on female DJs’ case

Well, this time around, Kaiyz, who plies his trade on Sanyuka TV as an entertainment pundit and a Lugambo mercenary, is on female Disc Jockeys’ case.

Recently, the Ugandan entertainment industry has welcomed new female DJs such as DJ Alisha, Pofia, Lynda Ddane and Djay Zato.

Previously, the industry had witnessed the likes of DJ XZYL, Mary Jo, DJ Karo and Dj Lola remarkably do their thing.

However, Kaiyz claims that many of the mushrooming female DJs are just masqueraders and actually cannot put on a massive show while on the decks.

According to the outspoken media personality, many of them lack the basic skills to execute the job. Kaiyz says female DJs in Uganda are only good at wearing layers of makeup, putting on tantalizing outfits and twerking, instead of scratching or playing nice music selections.

DJay Zato is one of the exciting female DJs in the country

“Well, we all appreciate gender balance but some female djs should first master the craft, deejaying isn’t about wearing kilos of makeup and playing music u personally enjoy in yo Kazigo nor dancing behind turntables and putting on skimpy clothes…learn&play,” Kaiyz tweeted on Tuesday.

Isaac Kaiyz Kawalya’s tweet comes at the backdrop of a trending video in which his colleague, Djay Zato commonly known as Zahara Toto, exposed herself at a certain event for apparently playing recorded mixes.

In the video, the confused Djay Zato rushed back to the decks to save her credibility but it was too late, leaving many of the revellers laughing at her helplessly.

But according to DJs, it is actually okay to play another person’s mixes.

“If she can’t mix, it is okay to play mixes that are already done by somebody else,” Galaxy FM’s Djay Denno says.

He, however, warns that Djay Zato must be true to her audience.
