2025 has been nothing short of a rollercoaster for singer Geosteady, but the “Owooma” hitmaker says it’s also the year that will define the rest of his life.

In a shocking yet heartfelt confession on Galaxy TV, Geosteady admitted he spent much of this year in a rehabilitation centre, battling a secret struggle with substance abuse that almost cost him everything.

“I started using in 2024 because I thought it would help me work harder,” the singer confessed. “At first, you feel confident, but later you realize you are trapped.”

Supported by the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) and close friends, the crooner quietly checked himself into rehab earlier this year and only completed the programme last month. Now, he says he’s stronger, sober, and ready to rebuild his life and music career.

Geosteady revealed that rehab opened his eyes to the many forms of addiction:

“It’s not just about drugs. I met people struggling with food addiction, sleep disorders, bipolar disorder, and depression,” he said.

The star hopes his story will inspire young Ugandans to speak openly about mental health, a topic still wrapped in stigma.

But Geosteady’s struggles don’t end there. Away from music, the singer opened up about family drama with his ex, Prima Kardashi. He says the joy of fatherhood has been clouded by complicated co-parenting arrangements that have kept him from spending time with his beloved daughters.

“They are my first loves,” he declared. “But how can I fulfill my responsibilities when I don’t even get to see them?”

According to the singer, co-parenting was once smooth, but over the last seven months, “many terms and conditions” have made things difficult, especially since he was away in rehab for six months.

Despite the storms, Geosteady is choosing optimism over despair. He’s back in the studio, focused on new music, and determined to reclaim his place in Uganda’s music industry this time, sober and stronger than ever.

“I’m healing, one step at a time,” he told fans, leaving many hopeful that his comeback will be nothing short of legendary.
