Bobi Wine is in Arua town to soil his hands into the election to replace slain Ibrahim Abiriga.

Kasiano Wadri moved to Arua from Terego where he served for three terms in Parliament.

With FDC Najjanankumbi leadership backing their candidate Bruce Musema, the people power group led by Bobi Wine have decided to line behind Wadri.

The Kyadondo East MP who doubles as a musician, told the residents he was assessing the situation before taking a position.

In a rally at Arua Hill, Bobi Wine echoed: “I come here today after thinking so hard for many days. I was supposed to be here earlier but I am here only a few hours to the election. It is not that I was not thinking about Arua, but because the election in Arua is a unique one….”

The MP went on: “We are faced with a situation that we must resolve. A question that we must answer. It took me long to decide on which side to belong because we have more than one comrade in this race. In the recent weeks, you have been reading in the news about divisions in the forces of change.”

He added: “This is something that reduces the hopes of Ugandans that are eager to be liberated. Those divisions are very clear in this election. It took me a lot of thought before I decided to come because in this race, we have five comrades in the struggle running against one oppressor.”

Bobi told the masses: “I come to Arua b’se there is a war here and across Uganda. A war between the oppressor and oppressed. That war has been won in Kyadondo, Jinja, Rukungiri, Bugiri and we must win it here. We have many fighters that we must decide which fighter to send on the frontline….”

The singer further added: “I have said it before that any party that tells you that it can single handedly liberate Uganda is a jocker. For us to defeat President Museveni, it will take more than one political party, more than one tribe, more than one religion and yes, more than one generation.”
