KCCA FC 1-1 Vipers SC

It was an exciting game served to the thousands holed at Star Times Stadium in Lugogo on Thursday afternoon.

Brian Nkuubi opened the scoring for the visitors in the 29th minute before Mike Mutyaba combined well with Patrick Kaddu to open the scoring for KCCA FC in the 49th minute.

KCCA who had the upper hand in the home affair had the decent chances to carry the day with Vipers SC struggling in the better of the second half thanks to their goalkeeper Derrick Ochan who came to their rescue on several occassions.

After a difficult first first half for the home team, playmaker Allan Okello burst into the inner Viper’s goal area but saw his heavy touch on the ball help fly over the bar with Derrick Ochan well beaten.

Then man of the match Mustafa Kizza saw one of his numerous whipping crosses land on the head of  Muzamiru Mutyaba but he only guided it far off Ochan’s sticks.

It was one of those obvious opportunities that should have handed KCCA FC the lead. Mike Mutebi was left punching and throwing up. Fans roared in disbelief after Mutyaba’s miss.

KCCA had the lion’s share of the proceedings in the second half after tactfully reinforcing with Jackson Nunda and Sadat Anaku making way for Gift Ali and Patrick Kaddu.

In the closing moments of the game, Kaddu popped in to crash the wood works, leaving the the stadium in utter shock as it looked the match was headed for a draw.

Vipers FC saw themselves come close with Yayo Lutimbo’s long range shot hissing over Charles Lukwago’s goal post.

Star Cranes midfielder Moses Waiswa had a frustrating afternoon and saw him hauled out for quick feet Aziz Kayondo.

Nkuubi had a decent ball delivered to his path by Ibrahim Tembo. The goalscorer with goalkeeper Lukwago lifted the ball over and above the bar.

The top of the clash leaves both teams with five games to play and the separated by four points.
