The National Resistance Movement NRM electoral commission has canceled the NRM Primary polls for Bukono county in Namutumba district after a polling agent was reported killed.
Dr. Tanga Odoi the EC Chairperson says the deceased whose details are still scanty is was an agent for the incumbent state minister for lands Persis Namuganza who is vying for the Bukono county NRM MP seat.
Odoi says the police has started investigations and arrests will be made in relation to the death of the agent.
”Right now we have sent the police to arrest anybody who is involved in the incident” Odoi has warned
Odoi who is currently stationed at Bushenyi says the elections there are generally peaceful.
By the time of filing this report, we couldn’t reach Namuganza’s rep for comment as her calls went unanswered.
