As per Hon Oryem’s communication, Lumbuye should be in the country by now and he is to face the law

As we speak People Power-leaning blogger Lumbuye Fred Kajjubi is reported to have stepped his foot on Uganda’s soil.

Uganda’s state minister for foreign affairs, Hon. Henry Okello Oryem confirms that Fred Lumbuye together with his crew were squeezed on the next plane back to the country which touched down in the wee hours of today morning.

In an interview with a local media house, Hon. Oryem confirms that the hard hitting blogger together with some other Ugandans he referred to as accomplices, had already been charged back in Turkey for several offenses including breach of immigration rules and regulations.

He further fusses that Lumbuye will not be tortured but rather subjected to a the law for offenses he committed while in Turkey.

“He has been in custody of Turkish authorities with some other Ugandans and have been charged with several offenses that Turkish authorities have preferred. They have been deported and en-route to Uganda where they will be in the early hours of tomorrow morning” Oryem said.

“I want to assure the family and friends and those who have been following this story closely that Lumbuye on arrival with his accomplices will be received by relevant authorities, questioned of various offenses …and I would like to assure you that they will be brought to court before the courts of law..” he added.

The minister also points out that some of the offenses some of the offenses committed by Lumbuye and the alleged accomplices have direct implication in Uganda as a country.

“There has been so much hysteria in social media that if you are brought to Uganda you will be mistreated or executed; I would like to state it categorically that Lumbuye and others who will come to Uganda will be given a fair hearing before courts of law” he stated.

A motormouth blogger and strong critic of the ruling government, Lumbuye had made a name using social media platforms on which he regularly shared opinions some of which were deemed, reckless offensive and toxic. At one time, he announced that some influential leaders had died including president Yoweri Museveni.

Through his hard hitting videos on Facebook and YouTube, he once alleged that Kabaka was poisoned and that Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga was behind the move.
