MC Kats receives over 30M from celebrities on 41st birthday
Renowned city events MC, Edwin Katamba a.k.a MC Kats must be one of the happiest men in Uganda, thanks to colleague, Sheilah Gashumba.
Sheilah Gashumba, somewhat drawing the inspiration from Nigerian star, Davido, started a “UGX 500,000 birthday challenge” to celebrate MC Kat’s birthday 41st on June 1.
Sheilah walked the talk first as she promptly deposited UGX 1,200,000, including withdrawal charges after asking each member in the entertainment fraternity to show the legendary King of The Mic some love by giving him his flowers when he is still breathing, as a token of appreciation for his contribution to the industry.
Within a few hours, what started as a mere showbiz statement turned into reality as artists, media personalities, fellow MCs, and well wishers, who have once benefited from Kats’ hustle, heeded to the call.
Mobile Money and Airtel Money notification messages started flowing in on Kats’ phone as he smiled from ear to ear.
Personalities, led by Muzzinyi, DJ Nimrod, Kasuku, Pallaso, Lydia Jazmine, Fik Fameica among others all gifted Kats with cash to make his special day count!
