Two Chinese nationals arrested
Police in Matugga are holding two ruthless Chinese nationals recorded in a viral video battering an employee who defied their orders.
The duo identified as Tong and Song Cheng Bao walloped one Male Muhammed, a driver working at a factory manufacturing gumboots in Matugga, Kyadondo county, Wakiso District.
In the video clip that has since made rounds on social media, an anonymous employee records three other colleagues ganging up and holding Male while one Chinese approaches them with a metallic stick that is used to Cain the driver uncontrollably.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson says the incident happened on October 1 2022 in Migo – Matuga when Male refused to listen to orders from his boss – Tong – to join off-loaders .
Owoyesigyire says Male reported to police in Matugga that his two bosses assaulted him for rejecting their orders. He says the duo was picked up by police on allegations of assault and causing grievous harm but were later released on police bond and their file forwarded to the Resident State Attorney to review evidence.

However, the file has was sanctioned on Thursday against the suspects on the said allegations and they will be presented before the Grade One Magistrate Matugga as soon as possible.
Owoyesigyire has advised employees being treated harshly to use the necessary offices like the Police and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to report abusers of their rights for proper action.
