Music legend Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone has spoken out for the very first time after losing the Kampala City lord mayorship race to incumbent, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago.

In rather a mature way, Chameleone has taken it to his Facebook page and congratulated Lukwago for giving him and other competitors which included NUP’s Nabilah Nagayi Ssempala, NRM’s Ragga Dee and other contestants an humbling defeat.

“Hello my people,

I am so grateful about life as many have not made it to this day. May they continue to rest in peace. I wish to thank you all mygreat people with whom we are walking this long journey together. We can always achieve our goals in unison. In a special way allow me to thank all my voters, Agents, Supervisors, Mayanja Family and the whole team. You kept me going, may God bless you all. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the nominated candidates for Kampala city Lord mayor race 2021, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago for winning the race. I know you have heard the pleas of the people this time.

It should be noted that every candidate of us has additional ideas to a greater city if chance had come to any side”, his statement partly reads.

Lukwago, an FDC candidate bagged 194,592 votes, Nabila 60,082 votes, Ragga Dee 23,388 votes and Chameleone (independent) 12,212 votes.
