FUFA appoints match officials

The domestic football season in Uganda is set to come to an end this Sunday 12th June 2022 with the Stanbic Uganda Cup final between Vipers SC and BUL FC at Masindi Municipal Stadium.

Ahead of the final, the Federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) Referees Standing Committee has confirmed the appointment of match officials to handle this classic match.

FIFA certified centre referee Engineer George William Oloya will be the center referee and will be assisted by Okello Dick and Issa Masembe as his first and second assistants.

FIFA certified female referee Shamirah Nabadda will be the fourth official while David Katabiira has been appointed as the referee assessor.

Vipers SC and BUL FC are meeting for their second Uganda Cup final in a row. The Venoms superbly humbled the Eastern Giants 8-1 in last year’s final played at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru at a time when Bul had parted ways with most of their players and ended up using players from their junior team and four senior players.

BUL are seeking for their first Stanbic Uganda Cup while Vipers SC are looking for their first double in history having won the StarTimes Uganda Premier League a few weeks ago. The Venoms tried so in 2018 only losing at KCCA Fc in the cup final.
