If there is one artist who deserves recognition, it must be Oma Afrikana. He is consistently building a star image, calmly yet deliberately, ever since Black Magic Entertainment signed him. He is ensuring that every project he is dropping is a touch of class.

Talk of Nyonyi Nyange, a song featuring Eddy Kenzo, Kyakala and Bikole, where he teamed up with Martha Mukisa- these are all exciting projects. His latest jam, Bilala proves he is not just another Ugandan up and coming singer, but a real talented star to watch out for!

In Bilala- a song produced by Diggy Baur at Mwotto Sounds- Oma Afrikana brings that ultimate minimalism.

The beat is a celebration of Ugandan urbanized Afro-music. Guitar strings, Piano, and rhythms all unmistakably pay homage to the homeland.

Oma sends out a subtle message that Ugandan music can still have a signature sound and still be urban.

This project, yet again, sheds light on Oma Afrikana’s underrated penmanship. (To get you up to speed, he has been the underground writer of Kenzo’s latest hits).

Bilala is off Oma Afrikana’s EP The ‘Kumwanjo’. According to Oma, Kumwanjo EP is to provide a catchy groove for the dance floor while his lyrics swing aimlessly between smug brags and his love interest’s attractive body.

The EP includes sweet melodies, pushing his pop sound to mature sensual extremes with the romantic number, addressed at a love interest but destined for the dance floor.
