Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone thrilled revellers at Bell Lager’s music platform Bell Jamz powered Roast and Rhyme and left a mark, acknowledging that he’s the real definition of a music legend.

Expectations

The legend kicked off his performance with songs like. ‘Maama Mia’, ‘Dorotia’, ‘Kuma Obwesigwa’, ‘Jamila’ and‘Bomboclat’ sending the audience into wild cheers and lip syncing to each of the jams.

On most songs like ‘Kipepeo’ given that it was the story teller’s edition, he narrated how the song came to life.

“Alongside Benon and Vampos, we were booked for a show in Mombasa and we had to take a ferry from Luzira to Mombasa. We took about 12 hours and immediately we reached, some boys started singing Chameleone Kipepeo, that is when I perceived the idea of coming up with the song,” The aspiring lord mayor said.

Chameleone continued giving people endless memories of his over 20 years in the music industry. Before he performed the last couple of songs, he was joined by his little brother Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel something that hyped up the crowd even more. The two did ‘Bomboclat’ together.

It was however Mowzey Radio’s tribute that was the highlight of the night when Chameleone performed ‘Enyimba Zomukwano’ as the audience couldn’t help but sing along. He concluded his performance a few minutes to 10pm with songs like Valu Valu’ ‘Kiboko’ and ‘Wale Wale’.
