Barely 3 months down the structured political terrain and Freshest party on the bloc, the National Unity Platform (NUP)seemingly solid party has registered its first defection to the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM.

Veteran journalist Basajja Mivule Bwadenne has alarmed his departure sound and loud enough only 27 days since he joined the party.

Mivule revealed the news on Monday while being unveiled by events promoter and NRM stalwart, Balaam Barugahara.

Mivule dissed the NUP and People Power movement as a group that is indisciplined with no near hopes of taking the top seat in Uganda because according to him they have no capacity to rule the country.

Mivule insinuated how he was heartbroken he was thrown behind police cells for making sectarian statements and accused Bobi Wine of not standing by him when a People power supporter attacked him.

On July 27th, 2020, plain-clothed security personnel picked Mivule from Baba TV offices in Kampala where he was hosting a morning show.

He was accused of sectarianism and inciting violence when he recorded a video asking why all top security officials heading various security organs come from one region.

Since his recent arrest, Mivule has been attacking People Power supporters for not visiting him or standing with him when he was in the police coolers.
