War hero Pecos Kutesa has returned to his creator!

The UPDF Tuesday evening confirmed the passing of the NRA bush war hero in India where he had been flown for specialized treatment.

UPDF announced: “The fraternity regrets to announce the passing on of Lt Gen Pecos Kutesa which occurred today in India.”

UPDF on his most recent role: “He was commander of the UPDF Centre for doctrine development and synthetisation until the time of his retirement. The ministry of defence and veteran affairs/UPDF fraternity condoles with the family, relatives and friends of the deceased during this difficult moment.”

Hospital sources in Nairobi where he had been admitted before being flown to India had attributed the war hero’s death to failure of the internal organs.

Two decorated bush war heroes; Generals Elly Tumwine and Jim Muhwezi took to social media platform Twitter to mourn the passing of their colleague.

Gen. Elly Tumwine is a former army commander and served as the minister of security before the recent cabinet reshuffle.

Maj Gen Jim K Muhwezi@jkmuhwezi: “One of the historical heroes, Pecos Kutesa has fallen after a job well done for his country . Fare thee well Comrade Kutesa.”

Muhwezi, who replaced Tumwine as minister of security, added: “My family and I join the rest of the UPDF fraternity to mourn the passing of a freedom fighter and an old-time comrade Lt. Gen Pecos Kutesa May God strengthen his family and grant his soul eternal peace.”

Rest In Peace R0/0026, Lt.Gen Pecos Kutesa was one of the first bodyguards of @KagutaMuseveni. He was later commander of the 1st Battalion and one of a few officers to document his experiences in the book, “Uganda’s Revolution 1979-1986: How I Saw It .”
