Cop Perishes In Accident
Police in Mpigi has started investigations into a vicious road accident involving a traffic policeman.
The traffic officer identified as constable Alex Kakose was knocked dead by a speeding vehicle at Kampiringisa traffic police checkpoint in Kammengo Sub County in Mpigi district.
Another officer identified as Elias Asaya was injured badly in the same accident and has been admitted at Mpigi health center IV in critical condition.

Lydia Tushabe, the Katonga Region police spokesperson, says a Toyota Harrier Registration number UAX 542N was being driven by 61-year-old Charles Tuhimbise.
“The driver was driving at a very high speed and when he saw the check point he tried to stop suddenly thereby losing control of the vehicle which overturned after knocking the police officers, “Tushabe said.
Locals who witnessed the accident, say that the driver rammed into the checkpoint from a sharp corner.
Police have taken Kakose’s body to Mulago hospital mortuary for postmortem while Tumuhimbise is in custody at Mpigi police station.
