Uganda Cranes defender, Kabugo Savio Ginola has left SC Villa and joined Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) club, AS. VITA CLUB on a three-year contract.

Kabugo who left Proline after they were relegated to FUFA Big League and joined SC Villa at the beginning of the season, traveled to DRC capital – Kinsasha three weeks back for trials and impressed the Ligue 1 champions head coach Florent Ibenge.

Kabugo’s name became famous in 2014 after his lone goal helped Uganda Cranes defeat Ghana Black Stars 1-0 at Namboole stadium in the AFCON qualifiers.

He has previously featured for SC. Victoria University, URA FC, KCCA FC and Proline FC.

AS Vita are the current Ligue 1 defending champions and recently made it to the group stage of CAF Champions League after edging Lesotho side, Bantu FC 5-2 on aggregate.
Kabugo joins compatriot, Joseph Ochaya who plays for TP Mazembe in DRC’s Ligue 1.
