Towards the end of 2020, singer Ykee Bender was elected president of Uganda Musician Association-UMA.
This was after Sophie Gombya who was the President resigned to concentrate on her political career. Ykee stepped in office as the new gaffer.
However not so long ago, rumors made rounds that the ‘Kyenkyebula’ star was also throwing in towel, leaving many in wonder-land.
In an exclusive interview with Galaxy TV, he confirmed rumor. In his revelation, he pointed out some of the challenges that forced him to resign.
“…. established artistes don’t respect the association,they only ran to me when they heard that i was given money by the government,they only associate when they want a win or to get something, togetherness is lacking in the association and we lack support from the government…” he stated.
He however tipped us that Cindy might take over as the new president since she is the vice. He showed his full support for the sexy Cindy , describing as a hardworking lady, smart and capable.
“The Constitution instructs her to take over because she is the Vice president and i think she can do very well until the end of the term,it ends in May”. Efforts to meet Cindy for an interview were futile but we will try our best to keep you updated.
