KCCA FC have told Uganda Premier League they will not honour the replay with Onduparaka FC rescheduled at Bombo Military playground.

KCCA FC were responding to the fixtures released by Uganda Premier League on its numerous social media handles.

The club chief executive officer Anisha Shahir Muhoozi blatantly told the league chief Bernard Bainamani they will not honour the game rescheduled for this Friday.

Muhoozi in her letter sent on the 31st of January 2022, stated that: “Reference is made to your circular on several rescheduled matches circulated on various social media channels over the weekend wherein KCCA FC is destined to play the game against Onduparaka on Thursday 3rd February 2022 at Bombo Military Grounds.”

The KCCA FC CEO advised: “We hereby guide that we are unable to honour this fixture as we await determination of our appeal presented to the FUFA Appeals body.”

The KCCA FC game away in Arua was abandoned following a penalty awarded to the Kampala side. Brian Ahebwa won a penalty for the league leaders when he easily went to the ground.

The home fans stormed the pitch forcing police to fire teargas in the air. The game could not proceed despite going beyond the 90th minute.

Neither team were awarded points as the decision was rested on the hands of FUFA disciplinary committee.

However, FUFA rules would leave Onduparaka forfeiting three points following the actions of fans who stormed the pitch to prematurely end the game.

“If during a game as defined by the FCR, that acts of hooliganism and violence cause the abandonment of a match, the defaulting club if found liable by the CDP or Fufa Judicial Body will lose the match by forfeiture. For a league competition, the defaulting club will further lose three (3) points and three (3) goals from those already accumulated while for a knock out format, the defaulting club will be eliminated and any other disciplinary sanction deemed by the Judicial Body or CDP.”

FUFA came out to order for a replay of the match. Uganda Premier League went ahead to reschedule the the fixture for this week.

How did they arrive at this decision? Did they look at the rules on the events that prevailed in Arua? If not then how did they go ahead without consulting widely on their decision?

KCCA FC have every right to stay away from this game. They are not a small club to be bullied around by FUFA, Bainamani and his group at Uganda Premier League.

The club appealed to FUFA and deserved a right to be heard. Have they been accorded the liberty to be heard?

As it stands, it is a no! So will Uganda Premier League go ahead to dock KCCA FC three points if the league giants do not honour this game?

Haven’t the league managers already exposed themselves as incompetent as regards managing the activities of the league and clubs?

It is a big decision for them and they must be seen to be fair to every side. As it stands, KCCA FC who appealed have not been heard.

FUFA need to go back on their decision to order the replay otherwise we are destined to old days of anarchy which could ruin every good thing the league has achieved.
