Police in Kanungu have netted Nelson Kagote Twinamatsiko, the manager of Kanungu FM who was captured in a viral video beating a female presenter

Twinamatsiko hit his colleague Anita Tumuramye until she bled from the mouth at the radio station on January 26, 2023.

In a video that has since gone viral shows Twinamatsiko wrestling his colleague to the ground and strangling her while blood drips from the face. She remains fighting for her life from the ground while colleagues fearfully ask Twinamatsiko to release his victim.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says the suspect was arrested on Wednesday on charges of assault after Tumuramye reported the matter to Kanungu Central Police Station.

Tumuramye told police that Twinamatsiko beat her for demanding commission on an advert for a school she brought for the radio station on January 26, 2023. She had paid 200,000 and was supposed to receive commission of Shillings 40,000 as protocol demands.

However, Twinamatsikoto refused to release the money and an argument ensued between the two. In the process, Twinamatsiko slapped her on the face causing her to bleed from the nose.

Maate says the suspect will appear before the court to answer the charges accordingly.  The case is registered at Kanungu police station under file number CRB 094/2023
