my girlfriend dumped me…

DEAR ZZINA POWER: MY life is going nowhere and I feel worthless.

I’m a 35-year-old guy and my girlfriend has just dumped me for a man who is better looking than me and has a nice flat.

To be honest, I’m not surprised she left me.

I got made redundant last year and still live in a shared house.

I was bullied when I was young and left school without anything in the way of qualifications.

Since then, I’ve had a series of low-paid, dead-end jobs.

My brother and sister both have great careers and lovely families, meanwhile. I can’t help feeling envious of them.

I have dreams and ambitions too. I would love to own a business – but I know that’s never going to happen.

I might as well accept that I’m not going to amount to anything.

Sometimes, when I’m alone, I cry. The future looks so bleak.

ZZINA POWER SAYS: Being bullied as a child has had a big impact on your life, both on your confidence and on your prospects.

Please do believe it is not too late for things to change.
